Fair warning: Very incomplete because my full tbr is forever like 250+ books and always changing and growing ^^;
This one I'll actually be reading as part of my family book club this year. My best friend from childhood is actually the one that chose the book this year, so I'm extra excited to read it! I got a hard copy of it as a gift over the holidays (and the book is gorgeous by the way) and am looking forward to annotating the hell out of it once it's closer to bookclub time (which isn't till june)
continuing my tradition of reading all of Casey McQuiston's discography (is that word just for music? it might be. Whatever, u know what I mean)
am I gonna read this just for the Sophie and Howl cameos? Yes, don't judge me!
See a book you've read and loved? Convince me to read it faster! Also, if there's a book you think should be on my TBR, feel free to reccomend it to me!
This also would be very long if it was complete and accurate as I have a tendency to flit from thing to thing and back again
Note: I make a distiction between DNFing a book and having a book unfinished. A book unfinished is one I mean to return to again at some point, whereas a DNF is one I put down with the intention of never touching it again; TLDR: unfinished = for later, DNF = never again
A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadows
am about halfway through right now and it's super good! I happened across its sequel at the library and thought the duology looked interesting, so I decided to check the first one out! It's a queer romance fantasy and it deals a lot with identity, consent and healing. So far I've fallen in love with the characters and the plot has been very interesting and engaging, lots of politital intrigue as well as tenderhearted/poignant moments!
the first in the Game Changer series! This and Heated Rivalry, the second book, are the ones covered in the hit Crave show Heated Rivalry! I've already read Heated Rivalry (very good) and did start this one but Kip, one of the male leads, is having to lie to his loved ones because his boyfriend (the other male lead, Scott) is heavily closeted and it's lowkey stressing me tf out. Not to mention, sice I've watched the show and know how their arc ends I don't feel as trong of a need to read this one as quick.
am I ready? Are any of us ever? Great book so far, obviously, but also Feelings and the inherent strangeness of continuing a characters journey after their first book. Will continue to read/finish this one when I'm ready, which might be 2 days from now or like 2 weeks before season 2 of Heated Rivalry comes out, we'll see
amusing book so far, do lowkey want them to get their heads out of their asses and kiss already though
am like 80% through this one and I swear to god unless they like totally botch the ending this one is going into my "books I love" catagory when I finish it! It's very philisophical and like also scientific? It essentially asks the questions 'what does it mean to human or a person?,' 'What does it mean to be a consious being?,' 'What would happen if another species on earth evolved into an advanced civilization?' among other intersting questions, v good so far
how any of Nora Sakavic's books are a comfort read to me I don't fucking know, but by god, this one is
this is also wildly incomplete
